DECLARAÇÃO DE CAPITAIS BRASILEIROS NO EXTERIOR (DCBE) As is the case every year, the deadline for submitting the Central Bank's Declaration of Brazilian Capital Abroad (DCBE) for the 2020 base year begins on February 15 and ends at 6 p.m. on April 5. All individuals or legal entities resident, domiciled or headquartered in the country, who hold assets abroad, whose values total equal to or greater than the equivalent of US$ 1,000,000.00 (one million dollars) on December 31, 2020, are obliged to declare. Until last year, the declaration was mandatory for amounts equal to or greater than US$ 100,000.00 (one hundred thousand dollars), on September 1, 2020, the amount was changed based on CMN Resolution 4,841/20. Failure to provide the required information or the provision of false, incomplete, incorrect or untimely information will subject violators to a fine of up to R$250,000.00 (two hundred and fifty thousand reais).
